STAFF, PARENTS, AND INDIVIDUALS SERVED:
Please listen to WQXK-FM 105, WHBC-AM 600, WHBC-FM 94.1, WHBC-AM 1480, WJER-FM 102, WJER-AM 1450, WKZL-FM 92.5, or WFAH-AM 1300 for information about program closings.
Televisions stations WTOV 9, Fox 8, Channel 3, and Channel 5 will also list MRDD closings.
These listings will either read
Program open no transportation, or
Program closed. The messages on television are all automated and we do not have the opportunity to modify them. Some of those stations do not offer
Program open no transportation as an option. Therefore, please listen to radio stations when in doubt of workshop status.
STAFF members should listen to the radio stations listed above for Code 1 and Code 2 information. Staff members may also call 330-627-5524 to verify work status. It is staff responsibility to find out the opening status of where they work. We will continue to use the phone tree as a convenience but there is no guarantee of the phone tree being completed correctly.
Listen for one of the following CODES to know what is open or closed:
CODE 1 means all facilities will be open for adult individuals, but there will be no transportation provided to individuals outside of Carrollton Village limits. Adult individuals may be transported to all facilities by private individuals. Transportation may be provided to individuals living at Country View Manor and AR 2 Rescare, so staff will call to notify the facility. All adult program staff members are to report to work as usual. School staff will not report to work. CODE 1 may be issued with a two hour delay if necessary.
CODE 2 means all facilities will be closed for individuals served by the workshops, school, and staff. A CODE 2 will be implemented on any scheduled day that has temperature at actual -15 degrees below zero or a wind chill of -15 degrees below zero during normal operating hours, no heat, no electricity, a declared level 3 by the Sheriff, and at the discretion of the Superintendent or designee.
NOTE: Carroll Hills School will be closed to students and staff for both CODE 1 and CODE 2.
Sincerely,
Mathual J. Campbell
Superintendent
